Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-14
This Privacy Policy describes how Mikesverse LLC ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use Attunly ("App").
1. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google.
Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the App, including stories listened to, words saved, listening duration, review activity, and learning progress.
Device Information: We may collect device type, operating system version, app version, and anonymous analytics identifiers to improve the App.
Purchase Data: When you subscribe to Attunly Plus, we and our payment and subscription processors receive purchase information such as your subscription status and transaction history (for example, purchase and renewal dates, product identifiers, and the platform used). We do not receive or store your full payment card number; payments are processed by the Apple App Store, Google Play, or our payment processor.
2. Guest and Anonymous Accounts
You may use Attunly without creating an account. When you do, the App creates an anonymous account identified by a randomly generated identifier (an anonymous user ID) rather than by your name or email. Under this anonymous ID we store your learning data (such as saved words, progress, and preferences) in Google Firebase so the App can function on your device.
Because a guest account is not tied to an email address or sign-in credential, its data cannot be recovered if you delete or reinstall the App, switch devices, or clear the App's data, and it does not sync across devices. To preserve and sync your data, create an account. Anonymous accounts that remain inactive for an extended period (30 days or more) may be deleted along with their associated data.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: (a) provide and personalize the learning experience; (b) track your progress, streaks, and spaced-repetition schedule; (c) sync your data across devices; (d) send daily reminders and streak notifications (if enabled); (e) improve the App through aggregated, anonymized usage analytics; (f) communicate important updates about your account or the service.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, and Cloud Storage). Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest using Firebase's default encryption. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with the following service providers who process it on our behalf: (a) Google Firebase / Google Cloud — account authentication, database, and storage infrastructure; (b) RevenueCat — subscription management and purchase data; (c) Sentry — crash and error reporting (device and diagnostic information; no personal identifiers such as your name or email); (d) Cloudflare — audio content storage (R2) and content delivery (Workers); (e) analytics providers (anonymized data only). We may also disclose information to law enforcement or other parties if required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymous (guest) accounts that remain inactive for an extended period (30 days or more) may be deleted along with their associated data.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data. You can delete your account directly from the App's Profile settings.
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format.
- Objection: Object to processing of your data for certain purposes.
- Restriction: Request restriction of processing of your data.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions with similar data protection laws, we process your data based on: (a) your consent; (b) performance of our contract with you; (c) our legitimate interests in operating and improving the App.
8. Children's Privacy
Attunly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Cookies and Tracking
The web version of Attunly uses local storage for session persistence and user preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
10. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in the United States or other countries where Google Cloud operates data centers. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international transfers.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via email. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates the most recent revision.
